Are you thinking about taking a Language Short Course with us but keen to find out a bit more?

The Languages for All (LFA) team will be attending the following events - come along and meet our dedicated team.

You'll have the chance to ask any questions about your preferred language and, at some sessions, participate in taster sessions.

Always wanted to learn a language but not sure where to start?

Join us at our Languages Open Evening and discover just how enjoyable learning a new language can be. You’ll have the chance to meet our friendly teachers, ask questions and get a feel for the 13 languages we have on offer. We'll have tasters in French, German, Spanish and more, available on the night.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply curious, everyone is welcome!

We’re excited to be attending the University of Edinburgh’s School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC) Language Taster events during Welcome Week.

Pop along and say hello to our Languages for All team, and try your hand at Swahili or Ukrainian in a friendly, interactive taster session. No previous language experience is needed — just bring your curiosity!

It’s a great opportunity to discover what learning a new language could look like, meet others who are interested in languages, and find out more about the language-learning opportunities available through the Centre for Open Learning (COL).

Come and give it a go — you might just discover your next language!

Try out a new language (or two!) in this fun Language Tasters event! You'll learn the basics of a few different languages, and discover the language learning opportunities available to you at the University of Edinburgh. 

Our Languages for All team are attending this EUSA event and will be on hand to let you try out British Sign Language (BSL), German, Japanese, Swahili, Russian and Ukrainian, to name but a few! All levels welcome.

Starting your journey at the University of Edinburgh? Come along to the Student Information Fair at McEwan Hall and meet the Languages for All team. We’ll be there during Welcome Week to help you discover the language learning opportunities at COL, including details of our wider short course programme.
