Our Pre-University Summer School is aimed at students aged 16-18 who are in their final or penultimate year of high school. We offer a range of courses in different subjects across Humanities, Social Sciences, Design and the Sciences. Each course is two weeks long and runs between 29 June and 10 July 2026. Residential accommodation is included in the fee. Pre-University: Social Sciences Students will explore different areas of the social sciences, such as Economics, Politics, Social Policy, and Social Anthropology, and discover what it's like to be a social science student in the beautiful, historic city of Edinburgh. Pre-University: Humanities Students will embark on a scholarly adventure through a range of disciplines including Literature, Philosophy, History and Art History and gain a fascinating insight into studying Humanities at university level. Pre-University: Life Sciences Students will explore different areas of the Life Sciences, such as Biology, Chemistry, Genetics and Immunology and work with science specialists to learn about different Life Science careers. Pre-University: Design This course will introduce students to the creative potential of Design and equip them with tools to develop an expressive personal portfolio.
