The Resource Centre

The Centre for Open Learning (COL) has a new Resource Centre available for all lifelong learners to use.

The Centre for Open Learning (COL) has a brand-new space available for all lifelong learners to use.

Located on the ground floor of Paterson's Land on Holyrood Campus, the Resource Centre is a space that's been created for our community of lifelong learners.

It's colourful, comfortable and spacious, making it the perfect environment for small groups or individuals to study, work on assignments, read, or simply relax and catch-up with classmates. The space has three computers that are free to use, plenty of desk space and a variety of books that relate to the courses we offer. The space can also be used for small events and presentations.

Opening Hours

The Resource Centre is staffed daily during term time by our new Resource Centre Assistants.

Opening hours for the upcoming term, Monday 12 January 2026 - Friday 27 March 2026 are as follows:

  • Monday to Thursday 10:00 – 19:00
  • Friday 13:30 – 16:30

Don't forget, the Resource Centre is open to ALL and there's no need to book - just pop by!

Display Proposals

Staff, students and learners are warmly invited to create displays in our Resource Centre.

Your display could celebrate or reflect on our courses, explore the wider world of lifelong learning, or take inspiration from activities connected to the University’s Community Plan.

We’re always open to new ideas, so feel free to be creative! Displays can be made using a wide range of media—from art and photography to print, objects, text or multimedia.
