The Centre for Open Learning (COL) has a brand-new space available for all lifelong learners to use. Located on the ground floor of Paterson’s Land on Holyrood campus, this welcoming space has been created as a hub for lifelong learning. There are open-access computers, a lifelong learning reference library and plenty of desk space. Our Assistants can support you with Canvas and help you find books related to your course. To support and inspire your learning we also offer a wide-ranging programme of free events. Opening hours for the upcoming term, Monday 28 September - Friday 4 December 2026 are as follows: Monday to Thursday 10:15 – 19:15 Friday 13:15 – 16:15 Don't forget, the Resource Centre is open to ALL and there's no need to book - just pop by! Display Proposals Staff, students and learners are warmly invited to create displays in our Resource Centre.Your display could celebrate or reflect on our courses, explore the wider world of lifelong learning, or take inspiration from activities connected to the University’s Community Plan.We’re always open to new ideas, so feel free to be creative! Displays can be made using a wide range of media—from art and photography to print, objects, text or multimedia.
